“When people observe the ways in which the soul is manifesting itself, they are enriched rather than impoverished. They receive back what is theirs.”
Thomas Moore

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and have been working in the field of personal development for several years. Counselling can provide a safe place in which to tell our story, to explore the things that we are finding difficult at the moment, and to have the experience of really being heard by someone else.

Being heard with a compassionate and professional understanding is one of the most healing elements in a talking therapy, and in itself can allow us to explore the more painful aspects of our lives. This may lead to finding ways of being more at peace with ourselves, living more creatively and consciously, and freeing ourselves from the unhelpful emotional patterns that hold us back in our lives. Through this deep exploration, this soul journey, we can not only heal our deepest wounds but can possibly access hidden sources of wisdom and strength that can enhance aspects of our lives.

Although my approach in integrative, I would describe my predominant style of working as psychodynamic. Our relationship will often mirror relationships in your day-to-day life as well as those of early childhood. This means that the way that we work together and relate will be an important aspect of the work. Amongst other approaches, I also like to work with dreams and the creative imagination. It is through these that the therapist and client can explore both the psychological and soul issues that are calling to be addressed.

As a qualified counsellor I am a member of BACP and a registered psychotherapist with the UKCP. My consulting room is close to the centre of St Albans and there is convenient parking.
